Best Thanksgiving Day workout

Who has the time to work out on Thanksgiving Day? There's so much culinary preparation going on--or if you're not cooking, most likely you're traveling. How much can you shove into one day? But even so, of all days out of the year, Thanksgiving is probably the most important to squeak in a workout. After all, you're going to be stuffing your face later, right?

I know it's going to sound strange for me to recommend a workout I don't even carry, but perhaps I'm just getting into the holiday mood or something (i.e. Miracle on 34th Street). Anyway, this morning I popped in my Turbo Jam Fat Blaster DVD. I don't own the entire Turbo Jam set--I got my DVD from a VF trade--so I can't comment on any of their other workouts, but I can say that Fat Blaster is awesome. Charelene is a super-fun instructor, full of energy, and the workout itself is a non-stop blend of funky and effective moves. You'll definitely burn a lot of unwanted stuff by doing this workout--and the great thing is, it's only 30 minutes. In such a short amount of time, you really get the full array of benefits. I know, Thanksgiving is busy, but 30 minutes? We can all find 30 minutes, can't we? Seriously, this is the workout to do on a time-crunched day where you want to burn loads of calories and get your metabolism fired.

And hey! If you order from Turbo Jam, send them a link to Advanced Workouts and tell them I recommended their DVDs. Maybe they'll finally give in and let me carry their stuff. I'd love that!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Tracy Effinger's Squeeze Lower Body Challenge

I'm going to have to make this a quickie announcement, because I'm behind today -- due to a major storm here in the Northeast, the power has been off for nearly 24 hours. Now that it's back on, I'm scrambling to get everything done before the holiday tomorrow. That said, I just wanted to let all of my Faithful Blog Readers know that (insert drumroll here ...)

Tracy Effinger's
is here!!!!!!!

I'm so excited that Tracy decided to release this in time for the holidays. I'll do a full review after Thanksgiving ...

More from Michael Olajide Jr, including the Rainmaker

AeroSpace NYC and Michael Olajide's Aero/Jump Sculpt and Savage & Serene have been so popular that I've received numerous requests to carry his previous titles, AeroJump and AeroBox. Well, they're here! I've also decided to carry the Rainmaker jump rope, specifically designed by Michael to enhance the performance of his Aero DVDs.

I'd never fully appreciated the beauty -- yep, I did say beauty -- of a jump rope until I tried the Rainmaker. Honestly, I resisted because I didn't think this jump rope could be any better than a regular speed rope. Um, I was totally wrong. OMG .... just try it, you'll see what I mean. Talk about enhancing the AeroSpace workouts! I don't know if
it's because of the poly-nylon material, or ... whatever ... but I definitely get a better performance with this rope than with any other I've so far tried. After testing it out, I knew it was a product I could proudly sell on Advanced Workouts. I don't miss as many jumps with this rope, either (totally reducing the frustration factor during that learning-curve time) -- although perhaps that means I'm just getting better at jumping? Maybe. Or maybe it's the enhanced performance of the rope. Whatever the reason, I love the Rainmaker. Now if I can just wrangle it away from my daughter ...

ShapelyGirl Opinion Poll

For those of you who aren't familiar with Debra Mazda, she's otherwise known as ShapelyGirl. Her workout, Let's Get Moving!, is already a huge hit among the plus-sized crowd who love their bodies and want to be healthy and fit. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know Debra over the past few months, and I absolutely admire her strength, style, and enthusiasm. As most of you know, in the past I've suffered from an eating disorder, and when someone has an ED, they have a warped sense of physical self. It's hard to view the person you truly are when you're so concerned (okay, let's be honest here--the correct word is obsessed) with the unhealthy ideals an eating disorder zings at you. Debra has helped me see the beauty in me--and in all of us as strong, empowered women--by emphasizing acceptance and health. Because really, that's the only thing that matters--health, strength, kindness, and personality.

Debra is filming two new ShapelyGirl workouts, and she's looking for plus-sized women to be on her team. You need to be fit, over size 14, coordinated, and have high energy. Debra is based out of Philly, and is planning to film in mid-February. If you're interested in being on Debra's team, you can contact her via her web site for more information.

Debra is also hosting a "Meet 'N Greet" event. Here's the info on that:
